Feedback I’ve received from others is that I bring sensitivity, creativity and warmth to supporting couples, families and young people. My passion for family and relationship has evolved towards assisting families, whether they are together or apart, in taking steps toward creating the best possible outcome for all involved. I am a certified family mediator, with extensive training in psychotherapy and conflict/relationship coaching. I have also worked with troubled teens and their families as a high school teacher for over 16 years and implemented peer conflict resolution programs in various schools.

I’m Patricia Thornton, founder of Innovative Family Solutions servicing Barrie and Simcoe County. For many years now I have been doing my own personal transformation work that continues to open up endless possibilities for me. During this process I’ve awoken my passion for working with people who are ready to build healthier lives. I’ve walked the path of divorce, litigation, mediation and coaching and have personally seen what works and what doesn’t work. Integrating two families has been my most recent adventure. I bring a wealth of personal experience and wisdom to my practice.
